What factors should you consider when you are installing driveway lights? Maintenance is very important point. Even if one driveway light is not working properly, it may lead to problems when you are removing your vehicle out of the premises or bringing it in from outside.
The basic purpose of the lights fitted to the base of your driveway is to give you a clear view of where you are going and to give you a sense of direction. The lights should be bright enough even if it is raining or if it is foggy. In such a scenario, to consider all these possibilities and to install the right lights is very important.
However, to install these lights and to fill it up with concrete in such a manner that it cannot be opened and maintained does not make sense. Unless you are installing LED lights which will last for many decades without any problem, you should always leave sufficient space for opening the lamps and maintaining them.
Whether it is a question of replacing the bulbs or whether it is a question of checking the electrical connections-you should have sufficient space to work around. You should also place sufficient circuit breakers so that you can identify the problematic area very quickly.
If you have a concrete driveway, it is obvious that the electrical connection for the lights would be buried in the ground and not under the concrete. If you make the mistake of burring it under the concrete, you may find it impossible to repair the light in the event of any breakage of the wire.
You may have no option but to go in for completely different circuit starting from the main supply in the house to the lights fitted to the driveway. The next time around, make sure you install the wiring in such a manner that it can be tug up and repaired if needed. The combination of circuit breakers and easy access to the wires will help you carry out repairs very quickly.
Once you have identified the point to which electricity is flowing, you just have to proceed and repair the connection from that point on words. The set up is very simple because the power of the lights is not very high and the level of electrical consumption required is also not very high.
You just have to make sure that the aesthetics and appearance is not affected. The last thing you want is for the wires to jut out and snag somebody's feet when they are walking.
